On the April 28 episode of Teen Mom OG the father of three had some serious friction with his oldest son, Bentley. On the episode of Teen Mom OG aired 28th April, the fans watching the show felt the buildup of tension the father of three had between him and his oldest son, Bentley, whom he shares with ex Maci Bookout Mckinney, after mom, Jen Edwards takes her grandson ice skating.
Ryan is getting fed up with having his own plans disregarded, what he claims is his 'disrespectful attitude'. Ryan snapping out;
“When it comes to Bentley, "nothing I say matters,” continued his vent to Mac, claiming that he feels as far as Bentley goes he feels as if he has no authority particularly when Maci is around. The 32-year-old continues to let off more steam to his wife MacKenzie Edwards.
“You know I’ve never asked Bentley to do too much of anything. It’s not like I’ll make him cut the damn grass, but you’re gonna have simple rules. Just like jumping on the damn couch and throwing the ball in the house, I just don’t like it, but he acts like it’s the worst thing ever that he can’t throw a damn ball in the house.”
Ryan's wife Mackenzie fully agreed with Ryan over Bentley's disrespect towards his father. It is a sticky situation between the ex-couple, considering that Ryan is not allowed to contact Maci at all due to the protective order against Bookout disabling him to contact Maci in any way.
However, Maci, 28, did not seem to agree with her ex on this despite the inability to actually discuss this issue like parents should... here comes trouble! Could Ryan be blaming Maci for their son's lack of respect and does Ryan really have no say?
Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout is getting all the blame for her and ex Ryan Edwards' son Bentley's bad behavior.
According to In Touch, Ryan Edwards claims that "Bentley is very disrespectful, and it is all Maci's fault". Sounds like Maci is calling all the shots as Ryan feels powerless in his relationship with his son Bentley as a father, Bentley not even regarding him as a father!
According to hat his mom Jen is afraid that if she upsets her grandson, he will choose not to spend any more time with his grandma and grandpa, and she is not willing to risk that especially because Ryan needs his parents to access Bentley at the moment.
There are also concerns raised about Ryan's sobriety in recent episodes. After seeing him in person at Bentley’s 11th birthday party, MacKenzie is she worried he’d fallen off the wagon, and she raised those same concerns again in this episode.
“In my opinion, he was 100 percent not sober,” she told husband Taylor McKinney, who conceded that he understands why Maci would make that conclusion.
“He didn’t look good.” However acknowledging there is often a pattern of taking two steps forward and one step backwards, when it comes to addiction and recovery. Still, ultimately Maci wants only the best for her son and in turn wants the best for his father also. “I hope I’m wrong about Ryan.”
