Cory and Chey's daughter Ryder spiked a fever and could not keep any food down, which can be "really dangerous" because the toddler suffers from a genetic condition called VLCAD which can cause her body to go into shock if she doesn't eat, scary stuff!
During the Teen Mom OG episode aired on the 19th May Cory finally got to know about what his daughter went through when he returned back to L.A from the MTV competition series, 'The Challenge' and boy was he shaken up!
Prior to Chey making the decision not to tell Cory about their daughter's hospitalization, she was speaking to his family, Taylor, and the Challenge producers, and they collectively agreed that since Ryder was in a stable state, he should finish the show clearheaded.
Do you think Chey made the right choice? It was a tough call to make! The challenge competition was an opportunity Cory had been longing for, and Chey admits she is still in two minds as to whether she made the right choice!
"Cory is still competing," she said.
"I still didn’t tell him. I hope I’m making the right decision. Part of me wants to tell him 'cause he’s never going to understand. I don’t want to mess with his head. I could really use the help, the support. I’m breaking."
According to MTV prior to the Teen Mom OG star's arrival in Los Angeles, Chey had a special request when he got his phone back from production.
"I asked his producers if they could give him a warning and tell him first so that he doesn't turn his phone on and he's blindsided," Chey told her sister R Kyle Lynn.
"Daddy's never going to leave for that long again," Cory adorably told his daughter.
After emotionally reuniting with his precious little girl, Cory just couldn't hold back his emotions.
"Coming off of The Challenge and hearing that your kid is in the hospital was literally my worst nightmare," he told Chey. "And that's exactly what happened. Most importantly, I'm just glad that she's fine now."
"I didn't want to call and freak you out and then your whole head would be thinking about Ryder," Chey responded. "So under different circumstances, if you needed to be here, then of course I would have called."

Much to Chey's surprise, Cory had words of praise and sincere gratitude towards her saying that he doesn't tell her "thank you" enough.
"I love doing this whole co-parenting with you -- you make it very easy on me, and I appreciate you for that," he added, while she interjected that they do a "good job together." Chey lightheartedly added " You should go away more often, I like these speeches.. haha"
We are so glad that Ryder is healthy and well now, what a shock for everyone!
