The new baby boy doesn’t have a name at the moment, but his birth will shift the line of succession, making him the 11th in line for the throne, since his mother is 10thin line. Two of the Queen’s children will be pushed back in the line of succession.

The baby is Queen Elizabeth’s ninth great-grandchild and Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s first grandchild.

The latest birth will also push the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward to 12th inline, as his children Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor taking the 13thand 14th spots. The Queen’s daughter Princess Anne will move from 14th to 15th place in the line of succession.

Prince Charles who’s the Queen’s eldest son is currently first in line for the throne, followed by Prince William and his children George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Prince Harry is sixth in line, followed by his son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The new royal baby won’t affect Prince William’s children and Prince Harry’s children who were born before Eugenie. It doesn’t appear as though the baby will get a royal title due to the letters patent issued by King George V back in 1917:

“The grandchildren of the sons of any such Sovereign in the direct male line (save only the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales)."

The title won’t be given because they can only be passed down through the male line.
