Cancel Culture is a thing…and it’s hard to say if it’s a good or bad thing. Iconic rapper, Eminem’s been hit with cancel culture, the rapper takes aim at the subject matter with his latest video “Tone Deaf” off his latest album Music to be Murdered By.
In the video, Eminem puts his insanely controversial past on display and states that his “alter-ego” is to blame for his “evil thoughts” while refusing to tone down his lyrics. The rapper tweeted the following:
“I won’t stop even when my hair turns grey (I’m tone-deaf) / ‘Cause they won’t stop until they cancel me,”
Eminem has recently been targeted for cancel culture when lyrics from the song “Love the Way You Lie” with Rihanna back in 2010 bubbled back up to the surface:
“If you f*****g leave again I’m strap you to this bed and set the house on fire.”
Honestly, I’m a huge fan of Eminem (granted more of his older stuff), so it’s a bit disheartening to see him being targeted for his music. It’s clear the rapper has changed his ways throughout the years. He's talked about his past problems, about how he's made amends with his Mom, and his deep regret for some of the subject matter he released back in the day. So personally…leave the dude alone.
But hey…what do I know right?
