The coronavirus is known to have originated from Wuhan, China, and has now spread across the globe killing hundreads of thousands and creating an immense level of stress.
11th March, 2020 the first named stars to be tested positive for the virus were Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, they were in Australia as Hanks was working on a pre-production of a biopic by Baz Luhrmann, 'Elvis Presley'. The couple shared their experience “We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches,” Hanks spoke for his wife too. “Rita had some chills that came and went.” The couple luckily had a full recovery and headed back home in the U.S.
A week after the first celebrity COVID-19 news, Idris Elba annunced that he too tested positive and was inspired to share the news as Tom Hanks done. “I’m really proud of Tom Hanks, who is also someone in the public eye who came out and said they have it and has been public about it,”.
According to Us Weekly the celebrities we know so far who tested postitive to the coronavirus are;
Marianne Faithfull, the singer, Rolling Stone affiliate, and actress was admitted to London hospital, she is stable and responding to treatment.
Brooke Baldwin, "I've tested positive for coronavirus. I am OKAY. It came on suddenly yesterday afternoon," Baldwin posted on Instagram. "Chills, aches, fever. I've been social distancing. Doing ALL the things we're being told to do. Still -- it got me. I'm healthy ... no underlying conditions ... Honestly, I feel like one of the lucky ones. I look forward to being back on television and seeing you real soon."
Pink the singer also shared her experience via Instagram "Two weeks ago my three-year-old son, Jameson, and I were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Unfortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive," "My family was already sheltering at home and continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago, we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative."
The mixed personalities rapper YNW Melly who is currently Florida jail awaiting trial, also tested positive.
John Benjamin Hickey the Tony Award winner described having the virus as feeling "brutally sick" for two weeks.
The Waitress star Sara Bareilles shared her feeling after she recovered from the virus as “really grateful for every easy breath”.
Jim Edmonds, a former professional baseball player was first thinking he had pneumonia however he was then tested positive for the coronavirus "I am completely symptom-free now and doing really well, so I must have had it for awhile before I got tested.”
Ali Wentworth posted on her instagram “I have tested positive for the Corona Virus. I’ve never been sicker,” Ali wrote. “High fever. Horrific body aches. Heavy chest. I’m quarantined from my family. This is pure misery.”
